Proudly serving the New Orleans area for over 90 years

Our grandfather, George Bohn, Sr., opened the first Bohn dealership in the New Orleans area in 1921. A former railroad employee who also served in World War I, George first learned the car trade while working as an accountant at Edward Motors, the business that ultimately became the first Bohn dealership. In 1923, George constructed a new building on the corner of Broad Street and Washington Avenue, and officially renamed his venture the Bohn Motor Company.

Bohn Motor Company became a true family business following World War II, when George's four sons returned from active duty with the Coast Guard to work with their father. Business boomed in post-World War II America, allowing the Bohn Family to expand to various Louisiana suburbs and towns. Before long, Bohn Motor Company became one of Louisiana's most successful and dependable car dealerships, selling top brands from a variety of locations, including the famous "Bohn Zone."

George's third son, Donald Bohn, Sr., joined his brother Dick in partnership at Dick Bohn Ford on the Westbank in 1956. Donald renamed the dealership Don Bohn Ford in 1978 when Dick sold him his share of the business. It was during this time that Donald brought his three sons - Donny, Scott and Van - into business with him. In 1983, Donald moved the dealership from Franklin Street in Gretna to Lapalco Boulevard in Harvey.

Today, the Bohn Family operates New Orleans Audi, Hyundai of Metairie, and Toyota of Slidell, as well as a franchise in Dallas. We are proud to continue the Bohn name and its tradition for quality and service.
